The much talked about Lakme Fashion Week 2016 finally comes to a close, the sign-off of the country’s most prestigious style event, the conglomerate of the topmost and the most sought after fashion cognoscenti of India.
This year’s edition saw ace designers across the country showcasing hauten couture not just with a decidedly Asian Twist, but actually took fashion and design to sync with technology presenting their amazing collection based on the future.
Elements, the nature is made of are Earth, Water, Wind and Flame, which explains the nature and complexity of all matter in this Universe.
The collections presented by the designers were also so diverse that it really felt as if it covered all these elements of nature, be it the aesthetic French art inspired designs of Jayesh Sachdev and Rixi Bhatia or even the intricate designs which came to fore in the free and easy, delicate and breezy Salt of Life collections presented by Paromita Banerjee.
The show also displayed an elegant blend of the traditional with the contemporary in the bridal and party wear ensemble of Anand Kabra with the background of traditional Indian embroidery with a distinctly modern touch or even the age old techniques of traditional wear being given a contemporary twist in the designs presented by Asif Shaikh.
The fusion of design and technology was highlighted to perfection by Wendell Rodricks with ghagras being reimagined as capes, dhotis morphed into sarees or even the otherwise unimaginable pajamas transformed to elegance into off-shoulder blouses.
Whether it were dresses, skirts, smocks or alike or the different varieties in pants, may it be the cropped ones or the wrapped ones or even the dresses which looked like saree-drape, synthesis and blend were demonstrated to excellence and precision by these talented designers.
With designs as diverse as the Elements of Nature, the event had kicked off on the first day with ace Couturier Manish Malhotra presenting an ensemble of over 70 collections with an haute couture line called the Elements.
Inspired by Elements, not just the fusion of designs, the event itself was a fusion of partnership between Lakme Fashion Week and Reliance JIO, the makers of the amazing range of smartphones so aptly named The LYF series.
The #LYFsmartphones series have really brought these four elements of nature, the Earth, Water, Wind and Flame to life with their Smartphone models named after these four elements.
These elements of the LYF Smartphones have really packed in features incorporating the new age technology of VoLTE and VoWi-Fi which enables us to make and connect voice calls over the internet at much higher than the usual speed.
Let’s go ahead into this world of cool fashion, dig its Earth, test its Water, gauge its Wind and fire its Flame with the amazing ensemble from Lakme Fashion Week and the cool range of LYF Smartphones.
