Fall asleep under a sky full of stars; wake up to the sound of the chirping birds. Roam around the vibrant green fields and pastures, ride horses or perhaps even lend a helping hand in feeding them.
Indulge yourself to homely food made with healthy farm-fresh fare; try your hand with some shooting skills. Set up a tent and relax under the open sky; play those games and sports you had played in your childhood.
If this sounds like your idea of a rejuvenating escape, Attra’s Farm spread over 10 acres of land in the picturesque locales of Karjat is where you should head to for an invigorating weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Overlooking the Morbe Dam, situated behind the Nitin Desai Studio (popular for housing the Big Boss) is this picturesque farm perfect to unwind yourself and your soul.
The farm houses around three farm-houses, each of around four to five self-contained bedrooms, a big sitting and dining hall and a kitchen providing the inmates total privacy. All the three houses are constructed at strategic distance from each other so that the privacy of one group is not invaded by the other.
The farm also has a housekeeping staff which ensures that all your needs at any hour of the day is met inside the comforts of your bungalow.
Just in case, you intend to be more relaxed, they have an open common dining area too where you can choose to sit casually over hours to have your grub.
Even though one has the option to cook your own food inside your house, they have a common kitchen too which serves you some of the most delectable local delicacies to get you have the feel of living in the midst of a farm.
For the adventurous lot, they have qualified personnel to train you on the basics of horse riding and you can jockey around and indulge in some horse riding competition too.
If horse riding doesn’t pump up your adrenaline to the hilt, they have some rifle shooting competition too where you can sharpen your shooting skills, practicing with air rifles over fixed targets.
For the kids and the adults alike, they do keep play equipment which can help you loosen your stiffened muscles over a few games of cricket or football.
As the night dawns, they set up a camp fire in true rural style to make the nights even more memorable than the adventurous day that you had spent.
You can set up a tent, which of course they teach you how, and chose to sleep staring at the sky, gazing the stars.
For those who are organically inclined, you can be rest assured that the home-made fare that they serve is made with pure organic vegetables and fruits.
I loved the tranquillity and calmness of the place, though there are a few issues, which I would want them to improve on, and I am sure, the management will positively look into it.
A few adventure sports like rock climbing, valley crossing, rappelling etc. could be added considering the location which would add more fun to the stay, especially for the accompanying kids. Further, a bit more care needs to be taken about the cleanliness of the rooms.
Revitalise your soul and your body and bring out the farmer in you.
It’s really important to me to have enough privacy in a place like this if you want it, while also having common areas so you can meet new people when you want to do that instead. This place seems like it has the perfect mix. Plus, campfires and sports equipment are both great ways to meet new people, all sharing in an activity that you all enjoy! This place looks amazing!

History repeats itself. We have heard that a lot of people are going back to growing their own food. It’s a welcome change and we wish we were taught how to live like a farmer in schools
It seems like a great place for a family weekend getaway. Sorry to sound terribly ignorant, but where exactly is Karjat? Is it in Maharashtra?
