A suicide is reported in an elite music school, and an investigating officer steps in to investigate the possibility of a suspected homicide.

The second season of the Zee5 Original series definitely starts with a promise of being much bolder and darker as compared to the first season, which deals with millennial issues of social relevance and immense complexity like gender fluidity, body shaming, personality disorder and porn addiction, among others.

Be prepared to have that extra dose of not just kidnapping, gun violence and illegitimate teacher-student relationships, but some right on-the-edge suspense involving a probable homicide and a prime suspect being the student of the elite school.

The Finance Minister recently announced an economic relief package to MSME units in the form of collateral free loans. This facility is for standard MSMEs, that is, those MSMEs which were running fine until the Covid-19-induced lockdown disrupted their work.

The total value of this relief package as declared by the Government was to the tune of INR 3 lakh crores.

This credit facility will be like an emergency credit line. Those MSMEs that have an already outstanding loan of up to INR 25 crores and those with a turnover less than INR 100 crores shall be eligible to apply for this credit facility.

These loans shall have tenure of 4 years and will allow a moratorium of 12 months (which means that the payback starts only after the initial 12 months).

This loan can be availed by eligible MSMEs on or before October 31, 2020.

The magnitude of the figure that was declared by the Government as the Covid economic relief was what excited the citizens of this country. A whopping INR 20 lakh crores it is; figure which many of us won’t be able to even count.

Perhaps, two previous proclamations might have excited the public like this one has. Once on the news that Modiji has announced getting back the black money into India and distributing INR 15 lakhs to each citizen’s Bank account; and secondly on the news that Rahulji has announced he would make a machine that would turn potatoes into gold.

Pun apart, economic relief package to the tune of 10% of the nation’s GDP was never witnessed in the history of this country and that was what got the eyebrows raised.

There was an honest expectation among many, including me that a package aimed for the poor would strive to offer immediate relief given that they have borne the brunt of the lockdown-related distress for over so many days now.

Unfortunately, at a time when the measures should have been focused on providing immediate relief to the poorer segments of society, it quite obviously seems skewed more towards the long-term horizon.

Let us analyse a few proposals on this yardstick:
