We all would have heard a little or more about the power of the bean: the soybean, that is.

We have even read claims and studies about consuming soy daily helping in lowering our LDL cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol), preventing stroke, cancer, osteoporosis, and hot flashes.

While research may be still on whether it’s the phytoestrogens found in soy that promotes these health benefits, or the soy protein and fat, or both; either way, the bottom line is that it’s good to eat soy.

The joy of soy is that it has come a long way. It’s not just seen in health food stores anymore, and it isn’t all about tofu, either. And the best news is that you don’t have to commit to being a vegan, vegetarian or even flexitarian (a flexible vegetarian) to add this plant-based protein to your meals.
